Help Me To Trust

Lord,

I keep my gaze upon you,

even as my thoughts spin

and my heart races,

I look towards you.

Enter into my overwhelm,

remind me that it’s not on me

to have it all figured out,

to be perfect,

and to do it all myself.

Thank you that I’m a new creation,

infused with your Spirit,

made one with you,

and that all my limitations

are an invitation

to depend on the fullness of your grace,

your divine resources, your Spirit,

and your love.

Calm my soul Lord,

give me your peace and comfort yet again,

let me enter into deep communion with you

as I recount your faithfulness and goodness.

Cleanse me with hope,

grant me greater faith and vision,

and give me the diligence,

the persistence to obey in the little things,

relinquishing my expectations,

letting go of control of the future,

the outcomes,

my own will,

to trust wholly and fully in you.
