Close

Lord,

Draw me close,

keep me near,

give me a soft heart,

a listening ear,

so that I may hear your call,

know your voice,

and walk in your ways.

Silence all distractions,

quiet my mind,

still my soul,

that I may sense your presence

once more.

Your Spirit blows where it pleases,

let me move only with you,

please don’t let me go.

Amen.

In Your Presence

Father,

let me never leave this place

of being loved, cherished by you,

seen to the core of my heart,

accepted unconditionally,

attended to,

cared for,

with tender mercies

and pure grace.

Thank you for bringing me here

through sin, brokenness, and loss.

I never could have come alone,

I never would have known,

that such a love existed,

if you hadn’t drawn me,

put the cry in my heart,

and gathered me to you.

Protect me,

don’t let me be deceived and distracted,

by other lovers and shiny things.

Put your love in my heart

that I may adore you all of my days,

this was what I was made for,

and life feels right,

makes sense here…

in your presence.

I love you God.

Amen.

My Abba

Abba Father,

I love your presence,

I love you and your loving kindness.

Thank you for your discipline,

I know it’s because you love me,

help me to embrace it

even when it stings and hurts

and my flesh balks at obeying.

Help me to be wise,

listen and obey—

I know it’s the way of life.

I’m most myself with you,

no pretenses,

no self deception,

no more striving.

I can’t believe you’d care so much for my heart,

my joy, my peace,

that you wouldn’t let me settle

for all the lesser things I’d desired.

I’m grateful for closed doors,

all the frustrations and pain.

It’s led me to discovering you—

and slowly finding me.

I love you Abba.

Amen.

Loving Father

Father,

you are such a good, good dad.

Thank you for your love,

for creating me,

making me in your image,

unique,

fearfully and wonderfully made.

I’m amazed at your delight,

that my joy and peace would make you happy.

My heart at rest,

not striving anymore,

just being me,

and loving you

with the gifts you’ve given me,

what brings me life and joy…

that you’d delight in that…

thank you.

You’re such a good, good Father.

Let me delight in you,

in the same way,

knowing your heart, personality, character rightly,

loving what you love,

hating what you hate,

just being close,

and enjoying your presence.

Thank you for saving me,

drawing me to your Son

and opening my heart.

I could never have come on my own,

but only by your grace and mercy,

thank you forever.

I love you Father.

Amen.

Your Provision

Lord,

thank you for your loving care,

as I follow you,

I trust that you will provide

exactly what I need,

blessing me

with things I didn’t even know to ask.

Thank you for your Spirit

that intercedes on behalf of me

with groans I can’t comprehend.

I praise you for your presence,

your patience with me,

and I will cast all my cares upon you,

confident in your love.

I bless you Lord.

Amen.

Coming King

Lord,

I still my heart,

and take a breath,

reminded of your presence once more.

Glorious in heaven,

your robes fill the sky with splendor,

the trumpets blare,

the angels sing,

Lord, our coming King,

your scepter is extended,

your arms open wide,

your hands scarred with love.

Lord, your justice reigns,

your favor comforts my soul.

I praise you,

and think upon

your power, glory, and dominion.

You are the King of kings,

the Lord of lords,

and I worship you today.

Amen.

Thank You Lord

Lord,

I praise you for your salvation,

thank you for saving me,

from my old, dead self —

the sin, shame, striving, and condemnation.

Thank you for holding onto me

when doubt clouded my faith.

Thank you for loving me

when I’ve held back from you in unbelief.

Thank you for pursuing me

when I’ve run away from you and hid.

Thank you for making yourself known to me,

through all the lies and distortions I’ve held about you.

Thank you for never giving up on me,

even when I kept my heart small, hard, close, and hidden.

You are so good Lord,

your love always wins.

I praise you that broken me

has always come face to face

with your mercy, lovingkindness, and grace.

My life is yours Lord,

Amen.

Delight

Lord,

My delight is in you…

You who hold the world together,

breathing life into all creation,

and sustaining all things by your power.

Your presence is good,

shining like the sun,

bringing light to the darkest places,

warming every crevice of my soul.

Wild, untamed, holy love,

you are safe and my place of refuge.

You are deep rest, peace, and quiet,

you ground me in you,

your strength embraces me,

and I am steady, calm, and full.

Lord, let my soul be a place

where your Spirit delights to abide,

to have unhindered reign,

where my heart and mind comply

to your life-giving Word

and beautiful ways,

a place for your glory to find home.

All worship, honor, and praise to you.

Amen.

Surrender All

Lord,

Show me, teach me, help me

to surrender all to you.

I say yes in my spirit,

but don’t know how.

Please illuminate my heart,

reveal to my soul, my mind,

how I may let go.

My past, I give to you —

repenting of my sin, shame, and guilt,

receiving your forgiveness,

watching you go back in my past,

deleting all the files —

those moments, like I had never even sinned.

My future, I give to you —

so many expectations

of what I thought I needed to do,

and where I needed to be,

what I needed to look like,

absorbed from tradition, family,

culture, religion, and worldly systems

into my needy heart seeking approval,

that has only atrophied the soul you knit in me.

Yet your Spirit within has proved greater.

I surrender to your voice,

the pressures and flows of your Spirit,

buoying me into your paths,

safe within your love,

far outside my comfort,

fully alive and my soul rising and set free,

trusting you in the unknown,

casting my fears, anxieties, and worries upon you.

I surrender all my desires,

giving voice to each one,

entrusting them into your hand,

into your care,

because you know best.

I desire only your best for me,

so help me to surrender all

to receive from my Lord

and give praise to your Name.

Amen.

In Unity

Lord,

I praise you for your Spirit,

dwelling amongst us,

the Body of Messiah,

your people, my people,

gathered together

in worship,

in prayer,

in your Word,

under our Head,

built upon our Cornerstone,

trusting and loving you.

How wonderful,

delightful,

when we dwell together in unity,

covering one another in love,

bonded by your grace and mercy,

truth and life,

knitting us together

in beautiful tapestry.

Let us be one,

make it so Lord.

We love you.

Amen.
