Desires Of My Heart

Lord,

show me how you delight in me,

how you rejoice over me with singing,

let me see myself rightly through your eyes,

not thinking too low or too highly of myself,

as dark but lovely.

Let me delight, rejoice, and worship you rightly,

following your ways.

Grant me your desires,

place them in my heart,

root them deeply,

water and grow,

nurture and strengthen them,

pour out revelation and anointing,

and bless your desires within me,

that I’d long for and walk only in your best for me.

Let your thoughts that outnumber

all the grains of sand on the seashore,

percolate around and within me,

help me to hear your Voice,

sense your presence,

constantly revealing,

making your Self known to me.

Go before me,

hem me in from behind,

and let me walk by your side,

in intimate fellowship all the days of my life,

known by you.

God’s Face

God,

I praise you for your Son,

Lamb of God,

who came to take away the sins of the world.

I thank you for cleansing me of all my sins,

and for tabernacling within me,

making the way to see your beautiful face.

In faith I receive your Son,

I believe all that He has done,

dying for my sins,

taking my punishment upon His frame,

resurrecting into overcoming life,

giving life abundant and eternal,

and I bless you for your mercy,

your lovingkindness and goodness.

I eat of the Bread,

thank you that you desire relationship with me,

drawing me to your table,

enjoying sweet fellowship,

intimacy with you.

As I set my heart, my mind, my way upon you,

looking upon the kindness, tenderness, and compassion

of your holy Face,

let your face shine upon me,

be gracious to me,

let the light of your countenance be upon me,

and grant me your peace.

Surrender All

Lord,

Show me, teach me, help me

to surrender all to you.

I say yes in my spirit,

but don’t know how.

Please illuminate my heart,

reveal to my soul, my mind,

how I may let go.

My past, I give to you —

repenting of my sin, shame, and guilt,

receiving your forgiveness,

watching you go back in my past,

deleting all the files —

those moments, like I had never even sinned.

My future, I give to you —

so many expectations

of what I thought I needed to do,

and where I needed to be,

what I needed to look like,

absorbed from tradition, family,

culture, religion, and worldly systems

into my needy heart seeking approval,

that has only atrophied the soul you knit in me.

Yet your Spirit within has proved greater.

I surrender to your voice,

the pressures and flows of your Spirit,

buoying me into your paths,

safe within your love,

far outside my comfort,

fully alive and my soul rising and set free,

trusting you in the unknown,

casting my fears, anxieties, and worries upon you.

I surrender all my desires,

giving voice to each one,

entrusting them into your hand,

into your care,

because you know best.

I desire only your best for me,

so help me to surrender all

to receive from my Lord

and give praise to your Name.

Peace And Rest

Lord,

I quiet my heart,

still my thoughts,

open my spirit,

and wait,

with no expectation,

no presumption,

just longing to hear your voice,

to sense your presence,

be still in your love,

knowing you’re right here,

always, with me.

Your Spirit fills me,

cleanses my mind,

refreshes my heart,

and a breath escapes,

releasing my cares to you.

I praise you my Prince of Peace,

and I bless you

for inviting me into your rest.

Lord,

I’m astounded by your care,

you’ve numbered every hair on my head,

you’ve sewn every stitch of my soul,

every word in my mouth,

movement of my heart,

you already know.

You watch me with care,

my lying down, going out,

my habits, quirks, and ways,

better than I know myself.

You understand and intimately know me.

I can rest,

trusting your guidance and counsel

is perfect for me,

as you hem me in from behind,

and go before me.

Lord, grant me a pure heart,

renew a right spirit within me,

remove anything in me that hinders your love,

please lead me in the way everlasting.

Lord,

thank you for this moment,

this breath,

to remember you

and give thanks.

and all is well with my soul.

Put a new song in my heart today,

and fill me with a spirit of praise,

let my lips be sweet

with lyric and melody,

proclaiming your precious Name,

singing of your glory and goodness,

my heart open wide,

as my hands are lifted up,

my feet swift to dance,

joy chasing my steps.

As I lay my head down to rest,

let me remember your steadfast love,

your faithfulness, your wonderful works

that sustained me through my day,

and marvel at your wisdom,

your thoughts, and your ways

that kept me in the path

of your light and blessing.

Lord, you are the source of life

and the Light of the world,

Lord,

thank you for being my Savior,

redeeming my life from the pit,

I was lost in darkness, sin, and trauma,

grasping life for me,

for approval from the world,

slipping down a dangerous slope to death,

yet you saved me unto yourself,

healing and changing my heart,

giving me new desires,

renewing my mind,

transforming me,

I’m a new creation,

you’ve called me your own,

and saved me not only from death,

but to a greater purpose in you.

You’ve reawakened the call of eternity,

the whispers of your breath in my DNA,

calling me to your original design and intent,

what you created my spirit,

knit my soul, body, and mind to do.

I’m done fighting against you,

against your call, against the essence of your image within.

I surrender to you

saying yes with a whole heart

to live for your glory.

I have everything I need in you,

empowered by your Spirit

with access to all the spiritual blessings,

divine resources to fulfill your purposes in this generation.

Lord,

thank you for saving me

from the pit of hell where my sins condemned me,

thank you for healing my soul

to understand true love,

your heart that gives, loves,

sets frees, empowers with no guile,

thank you for delivering me

out of the systems of this world,

from the power of the sin and death,

and giving me life eternal,

breathing your Spirit into mine,

awakening word, life, and spirit within me.

Help me to keep myself undefiled by the world,

guarding my heart

from the lies that I’m not enough,

enslaving me to materialism, quick fixes, and busyness

that suffocate my spirit,

and snuff out your Light,

all that you have already done.

Give me grace to renew my mind,

cleansing thoughts to be in alignment

with your Truth, your Word, your Spirit,

that your Spirit and Word dwelling within me

would have free reign

to be, express, live, and love,

establishing your holiness

wherever I go.

There’s nothing I bring to you,

except arms wide open to receive your love

again and again,

empty hands casting away my failures and good credentials,

to fully grasp, cling, hold onto

all that you have done,

I could never save myself,

you have done it all,

and I will praise you and love you always.
