Desires Of My Heart

Lord,

show me how you delight in me,

how you rejoice over me with singing,

let me see myself rightly through your eyes,

not thinking too low or too highly of myself,

as dark but lovely.

Let me delight, rejoice, and worship you rightly,

following your ways.

Grant me your desires,

place them in my heart,

root them deeply,

water and grow,

nurture and strengthen them,

pour out revelation and anointing,

and bless your desires within me,

that I’d long for and walk only in your best for me.

Let your thoughts that outnumber

all the grains of sand on the seashore,

percolate around and within me,

help me to hear your Voice,

sense your presence,

constantly revealing,

making your Self known to me.

Go before me,

hem me in from behind,

and let me walk by your side,

in intimate fellowship all the days of my life,

known by you.

Heart’s Desires

Lord,

you know my heart,

better than I know myself.

I trust you,

and put myself into your hands.

Draw out,

bless,

anoint the desires

you’ve placed in me

as I look to you.

Breathe upon them,

give them life

and wings through my hands and feet.

Grow me, mature me

into the fullness of who you’ve called me to be.

Give me vision,

fill me with hope

of your call for my life.

Enable me by the power of your Spirit,

to hear and obey,

and worship you with all that I am

through this life you’ve given me.

Lord,

My delight is in you…

You who hold the world together,

breathing life into all creation,

and sustaining all things by your power.

Your presence is good,

shining like the sun,

bringing light to the darkest places,

warming every crevice of my soul.

Wild, untamed, holy love,

you are safe and my place of refuge.

You are deep rest, peace, and quiet,

you ground me in you,

your strength embraces me,

and I am steady, calm, and full.

Lord, let my soul be a place

where your Spirit delights to abide,

to have unhindered reign,

where my heart and mind comply

to your life-giving Word

and beautiful ways,

a place for your glory to find home.

All worship, honor, and praise to you.

My Rest

Lord,

I have everything I need in you.

You sustain my heart,

refresh my soul,

keep me in perfect peace,

as my thoughts alight on you.

You are rest,

and I enter your presence,

grateful for your blood

that has washed away all my sin,

and speaks a better word

over every accusation,

judgement, and condemnation.

You are my refuge

and my tower of strength.

There’s no other place I’d rather be,

I praise you.

Delight In The Lord

Lord,

I praise you,

you are my Maker,

you know me better than I know myself.

Pour your grace upon me,

to enjoy you,

delight in you,

know and love you

as you have loved me.

Place your desires within me,

you know me best,

shrivel away the desires that aren’t of you,

that are from the world,

from people’s expectations,

from my flesh.

I trust I am most content

pursuing the things of your heart.

that I have everything I need in you.

Uplift My Heart

Lord,

I bless your Name,

for being so close,

your comfort and sweetness

filling my barrenness,

your presence in the midst

of my grief and loss.

Give me an unoffended heart,

cast self pity far from me,

pour out your grace

that I wouldn’t compare

with what isn’t mine,

and instead find true contentment,

resting in your love,

let me bless

even when I feel my lack.

Lord, you are all I need,

I love you and praise your Name.

Contentment

Lord,

Draw me back to you,

turn my heart to you once more,

I repent of chasing the idols of my culture,

thinking they would make me happy,

feeding the discontentment of my flesh,

always longing for more.

Help me, teach me, gently train me Lord

to be content in you.

Grant me greater revelation

that I have everything I need in you,

so I can let go,

unclench my fists,

and cease my striving and grabbing.

Forgive me Lord,

have mercy on me,

wash away the deception,

cleanse my heart,

and let me see you rightly.

Return my heart to first love,

and give me the grace

to love you

with all my strength, intelligence, will, and passion once more.

You alone are worthy Lord.

God’s Love Is Everything

Abba,

Thank you for proving your love again and again,

your mercy and lovingkindness

are new every morning,

an endless well brimming over,

you love me despite my unbelief.

You are faithful when I am faithless.

I’m loved in my brokenness and weakness,

I’m loved, burnt out and exhausted,

I’m loved in my failures, mistakes, and wrong turns,

I’m loved in my mediocrity, inadequacy, and inability,

I’m loved in my pride, independence, and rebellion,

I’m loved in my self righteousness and sin.

You loved me through the wilderness,

teaching me what love is,

you love me because you are love,

and you’ve chosen me in your love.

I praise you that your love is not based

on my performance, excellence, or merit.

You give and you take away as you please,

I remind myself, I came naked and will return to dust,

everything I have comes from you,

is for you, goes back to you,

you sustain all that I am.

Apart from you I’m nothing Lord,

naked, bereft, cold, hard, proud,

miserable, deceived, heading straight for hell.

But you made the way through your Son,

you drew me,

you saved me,

you cleanse, heal me,

and make me whole.

You give me new life and life abundant,

you have given me yourself,

you are my portion, my cup, my inhertance,

and I praise you Lord.

Walk With God

Lord,

let me be face to face with you

throughout the day,

sharing my thoughts,

baring my heart,

not holding back

coming honestly,

vulnerable and open

before you.

I need you Lord…

so easy for me to say,

yet difficult to bend my knee and do,

humbling for my pride and independence.

Where I’m on autopilot,

depending on my own strength

please gently remind me of your presence,

that you’re with me,

willing and ready to teach me, train me,

show me, guide me, help me once again,

in better, wiser ways than my own.

Let my heart be open to your instruction,

wrapping around your wisdom and counsel,

inviting your strength and power

leaning on you,

so that I walk in your ways,

and am blessed.

Show me how to talk with you,

partner with you,

do life with you,

and let the distractions melt away,

so that I have dove’s eyes before you.

You and me Lord,

please help me to run this race,

and finish well,

and receive your full inheritance in me.

You are splendid, beautiful, and true,

let my life faithfully reflect your worthiness.
