Love Like You

Lord,

would you teach me how to love,

to peer into a soul

and see what you see,

having compassion,

unconditional acceptance

for a history I don’t see,

suffering I can’t understand,

to let go of my judgement

and lean my head on your heartbeat,

to be patient, kind, and gentle,

soft against harsh edges,

gracious toward prickly spines,

can you give me a new grace

to interact with others,

an anointing to speak words

that bring life and healing,

an empowerment and strengthening

a fresh infusion of your Spirit

to wait, give space, choice, freedom,

the honoring and dignifying,

that you have done for me

in my shame,

believing, hoping

for your best in others,

trusting that your love

is more powerful than anything in the world.

Let me love like you Lord,

remembering your love

has transformed me.

I bless you Lord.

Amen.

Rest And Obedience

Lord,

thank you for your rest,

always you call me into a relationship with you,

your commands intentional

to build my trust and faith in you.

Help me Lord,

deliver me from the hamster wheels I create for myself,

that others, the world create for me.

Take me out and deliver me.

Let me find my rest in the warmth of your hand,

holding me, caring for me back to health,

carrying me to the green pastures and quiet waters I’d missed with you.

Let me learn from you who are gentle and humble in heart,

whose yoke is easy and burden is light.

What is your heart Lord?

What do you desire to do through my life?

Forgive me Lord for my striving.

I lay down my will and my plans for yours,

I want to be used by you,

and to shine for your glory alone.

But let me first find rest in you

and do it all, hand-in-hand,

walking side-by-side,

in intimate, sweet relationship with you.

Let it be no other way,

I love you Lord, have your way in me.

Amen.

Provider

Abba,

I praise you who hold the universe in your hands,

creator of all the heavens, galaxies, planets, and the stars,

sustaining the earth with your breath,

the sun’s rays and rain,

down to the sparrow to whom you provide seed.

Forgive me for doubting your love,

your ability to provide,

you are the Master

that owns all the cattle on the hill,

and you love me,

your child, made in your image,

you call me your own.

I ask Abba

provide for all my needs,

so that I will never lack and be tempted to steal,

or have so much and be tempted to forget you,

that I may not be dependent on the generosity of others,

but have enough for myself

and be resourced and ready to be a blessing to others.

Equip me on every level, every way,

give me a fresh infusion of your Spirit,

so that I may faithfully fulfill your purposes for my life.

Giver of life, abounding grace, and all good gifts,

I praise you,

entrusting my life in your hands.

I am yours, and you are mine,

I give myself, my all right back to you.

I love you.

Amen.

Live Worthy

Lord,

let me see you rightly,

holy, sovereign, powerful, beautiful,

loving you and obeying you rightly.

Cleanse me

with your spirit of repentance,

the spirit of the fear of the Lord,

burn away all bondages in my heart

that cling to the material elements

of this world that will all pass away.

Open my eyes, ears, and heart

to see straight through to the heavens

peering into eternity,

realizing my days are less than a breath,

my time fleeting here on earth,

it will all pass away,

so may my earthly life be forfeit,

dying with you,

that I would gain eternal life,

rising in you.

Help me to surrender all,

letting go of what seems so important,

my priorities, my ways, my plans…

and want you alone,

laying down personal gain

so I will gain all of you.

Be my everything,

set yourself as a seal upon my heart,

a seal upon my arm,

be who and what I live for,

your glory, your Name, your honor.

Because you alone are worthy Lord.

Amen.

Love Like You

Abba,

holy and righteous,

powerful and awesome,

I remember love

that you loved us

and sent your Son,

crushed Him to be the satisfying offering

for all the sins of the world.

Without you Lord, I’m nothing,

a skeleton of failures, brokenness, and selfishnes

resurrected to spirit and life only by your power.

Empower me by your Spirit and life,

bring your strength to the end of my strength

let me walk in your light,

decreeing my righteousness bought by your blood,

shaming the enemy’s whispers and lies,

exalting you, all that you’ve done

by my being and words

that I may be a faithful witness unto you —

let your heartbeat and life beat through mine,

enable me to arise,

a force of your grace

ablaze in holiness and righteousness,

to be different and other,

salt and light,

that you would draw many to you,

imbue me with your supernatural love

to love as you do,

loving my brother and sister,

loving my enemies

that the world would see you.

Lord, you alone are worthy,

and I pray that my life would glorify you.

Amen.

The Fear Of The Lord Is Clean

Abba,

Holy are you,

glorious in your throne room of grace,

active, concerned, moving

nations and kings in alignment with your purposes.

I praise you for your promises,

time coming into its fullness

your prophetic word fulfilled

and your Son coming into His rightful place.

King of kings and Lord of lords,

make me ready.

I ask you for the spirit of the fear of the Lord

to cleanse my soul,

expose and deliver me from habitual sin,

awaken me from apathy and complacency,

refining fire

come upon on my heart and mind,

that my spirit would remain

brightly burning, united with you.

Reorient me to your priorities,

being alert and sober-minded to pray,

to steward and spend my gifts and talents

for your kingdom, to glorify your Name,

not my own,

to be wise and shrewd as a snake,

gentle as a dove,

stepping into your love,

that my love would abound still more and more

in knowledge, depth of discernment, and insight,

making the most of this time left that you’ve given me,

to fulfill your purpose upon my life.

I long to hear you say

“Well done good and faithful servant.”

Let it be so Abba,

have your way in me.

You alone are worthy,

I bless you.

Amen.

Letting Go

Lord,

I praise you that you hold onto me,

uphold me in your love,

reminding me of your promises,

your goodness in the past,

so I can let go today,

and trust you.

I place my loved ones in your hands

trusting your plans, your will, your timing for them

is perfect,

and I’m grateful to have been a witness

of your love, your Spirit, your grace in their lives

for a moment in time

that I pray stretches into an eternity of fellowship

worshipping you.

Lord, you give and you take away,

and I’m blessed for the footprints

that have come into and out of my life,

that you have used

to bless, enrich, grant love and wisdom,

to remind me how real you are,

how powerful and good,

how deeply you love this world,

so much that you came down

and gave your life for us all.

Come Lord,

I long for the day

we will all be caught up in your power,

with every tear wiped from our eyes,

no more loss, grief, and pain,

enjoying sweet fellowship with you

with one another

forever.

I trust you Lord,

I let go,

and I bless you.

Amen.

Tabernacle With Us

Lord,

I thank you for coming in fragile human flesh,

living among us,

knowing us intimately, painfully, and unreservedly.

Thank you for never turning away,

but pressing into death on the cross,

embracing all our brokenness,

taking all our sin, accusations, and shame,

and dying, burying it all in the grave.

You took yourself up into life,

which only you the Son of God, Son of Man can do,

and you made a way

for us to find home in you.

I praise you for being the tabernacle of life

that sustains, makes me whole,

bringing comfort, love, joy, peace, and rest.

I bless your Name for the promise

that you are coming again, soon,

and you’re making all things right

in accordance with your Word and decree,

waiting patiently for all

you’ve called into your household.

Thank you for your Spirit,

your presence with me

as we sojourn through this life,

and the hope of home with you

forever afterwards.

I bless you Lord.

Amen.

In Love

Lord,

I struggle to face the limits of my love,

realizing my efforts are dirty rags

revealing my control, anxiety,

a lack of faith in you.

Forgive me for my pride

in thinking my compassion and love

is better, greater than yours.

I loosen my grip,

open my palms,

and let go.

Enter in Lord,

and hold my pain,

comfort my heart,

fill my loneliness and emptiness,

cleanse my addictions and innoculations,

and set me free.

Freedom.

Your love sets free,

choice,

hope,

faith

working all things for good.

You draw those you love,

and your love

is a greater force working

than any other.

So help me to trust,

lean into you,

and let go of me,

and believe that in the surrendering,

now you move,

act,

and work

in better, perfect ways I cannot see.

I trust you Lord.

You are Love,

let me be hidden in you,

one with you.

Amen.
