Peace Be Still

Lord,

I thank you for your peace

transcending all understanding,

loosening and unfurling

the knotted messes of my soul,

calming, grounding, deepening within me

like the depths of an ocean swell

connected to the expanses of heaven above,

I’m riding the waves of praise emanating

from all your creation

and from my spirit within,

I can finally hear it

in the stillness of my soul.

Let me be still and know that you are God,

and align with the foundations of the universe

and all creation singing praise, glory, and honor

for who you are, what you’ve done,

your sacrifice, death, and life.

You hold the moon and stars in your hands,

you love this speck called earth,

you love me.

I rest assured, in peace,

in your ever-present, all-knowing, omnipotent love.

I praise you Lord.

Amen.

Tabernacle With Us

Lord,

I thank you for coming in fragile human flesh,

living among us,

knowing us intimately, painfully, and unreservedly.

Thank you for never turning away,

but pressing into death on the cross,

embracing all our brokenness,

taking all our sin, accusations, and shame,

and dying, burying it all in the grave.

You took yourself up into life,

which only you the Son of God, Son of Man can do,

and you made a way

for us to find home in you.

I praise you for being the tabernacle of life

that sustains, makes me whole,

bringing comfort, love, joy, peace, and rest.

I bless your Name for the promise

that you are coming again, soon,

and you’re making all things right

in accordance with your Word and decree,

waiting patiently for all

you’ve called into your household.

Thank you for your Spirit,

your presence with me

as we sojourn through this life,

and the hope of home with you

forever afterwards.

I bless you Lord.

Amen.

To Pray

Lord,

thank you for reaching my heart,

loosening my lips,

unlocking words

to talk with you,

to pray,

confide,

whisper,

wonder,

cry,

for confidence in your love,

for showing me my limits and lack

by your kindness, not to my shame,

so that I can ask, seek, and knock.

My reason has failed me,

your loving kindness has broken through,

time and again,

I bless you for faith,

softening, circumcising this heart of stone,

and I dare to believe now,

that you are so good,

you will answer.

I accept your terms,

I pray now your will, not my own,

trusting you know best,

with unclenched hands

ready to surrender all and receive

your best for my ultimate good,

even when I don’t understand.

Help me, teach continuously how to pray,

I love you Lord.

Amen.

Light Of The World

Lord,

You are the light of the world,

grant me the grace to follow you,

let me never walk in darkness,

but have your light which gives life.

Let my life witness to your light,

let my testimony be valid, true, and pure.

Give me wisdom to know where I came from,

my body from dust,

my soul and spirit from your hand,

and to know where I’m going,

my body to dust,

my soul and spirit returning to you.

Cleanse my eyes, ears, and heart

to not judge by merely human standards,

but like you,

to pass judgement on no one,

but entrust them to your loving hands.

If I do pass judgement,

let it be valid,

coming from your heart and the One who sent you.

Let me say in the world

only what I have heard from your Spirit.

Let me lift you up,

so that I may know you,

and do nothing of myself,

but say only what your Spirit and Word have taught me.

Please help me to do what pleases you,

don’t ever leave me to myself,

and be with me always Lord.

Let me obey what you say,

know the truth,

and be set free.

for when you bring freedom,

I am truly free.

I praise you Son of Man!

Let my life please you and bring you glory.

Amen.

My Comfort

Lord,

I praise you for your comfort and kindness.

When my body is weak

and I am feeling fragile,

I thank you that I can lean in,

trust in, depend on you.

Your hand covers me,

you shelter me under your wings,

I will abide in your shadow,

close to your presence.

Thank you for your gentle strength,

your light warmth,

your kind joy and hope

that comforts and upholds me.

You uplift my spirits

as your presence heals my frame,

your strength is perfected in my weakness.

Thank you for your angelic hosts

that surround me,

ministering healing and life.

I praise you that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made,

an echo of your glory, love, and delight.

I love you, thank you for being with me

always.

Amen.

Entering Rest

Lord of my rest,

I enter into Shabbat,

into your presence,

so thankful for your mercy,

for your acceptance, joy, and open arms,

your faithfulness even when I’ve been unfaithful,

your delight when I come,

just as I am.

I’m so grateful for your invitation,

to step out from the the world’s frenetic race,

into this Shabbat you’ve made for me

into the garden to just be

simply me in your wondrous presence.

So I’ll enter your rest,

confident and secure,

washed in your blood,

laying aside my burdens,

giving them to you,

falling into your grace

again and again,

setting my mind,

my eyes upon you

and finding only shalom peace

with a full heart

and praise on my lips.

I bless you this Shabbat,

tasting and knowing you are good,

sweet, holy, and wonderful.

I love you Lord.

Amen.

Spirit Of Life

Lord,

I praise you for your salvation, healing, and deliverance.

You are my Lord and Savior,

your Spirit of life has set me free —

I’m free from all condemnation, judgement, guilt, and shame.

What I couldn’t do in my skin,

with rules, regulations, prescriptions, and protocols,

dead in my spirit and efforts without you,

you did.

I thank you and praise you for becoming my sin,

and the blood sacrifice for my sin offering forever.

I praise you for subduing, condemning all sin in my flesh,

you have overcome the world,

and put in me fresh strength to live by your Spirit,

guided by your power.

You have granted me access to live by your Spirit,

to set my heart and mind upon your will and purpose.

I praise you for the promise of life and peace,

my wholeness and well-being

as my mind is stayed upon you,

and you teach me to walk with you.

I can’t believe your Spirit dwells within me

to guide and direct me,

making me your precious child.

I’m alive eternally because of your righteousness,

your holiness that dwells within me,

all given as a gift out of your wonderous grace to me.

Just as your Spirit raised you from the dead to life,

you revive me, give me new life, and raise up my mortal body by your Spirit.

Lord, by the power of your Spirit,

grant me strength, enable me

to continually put to death all of my thoughts and behavior

outside of your perfect will that brings blessing, protection, and life.

Lead me that I may be blessed,

and called a daughter of God.

I bless your Name.

Amen.

Lord Of My Rest

Lord,

Let me surrender to the flow of your rest,

pausing in the ebb,

lying still on the shores

of your mercy and grace.

Breathing in your presence,

refreshed as the mist and spray of your Spirit

cleanses and washes away the week’s turbulence.

Let me lean back into your love and acceptance,

resting fully on all the grains of sand

of your thoughts toward me,

caring, concerned, wise, devoted, nurturing, empowering,

your strength and support emanates within me.

Let me bask in the radiance of your glory,

rays of light gently hitting my face

making it aglow with your joy and beauty,

my back warmed against the praises

rising through all creation

bursting like sunset

from the depths of the earth

to the farthest shore

to the mountaintops,

all singing, crying out,

glory, glory to God in the highest.

I bless you, the risen One,

for ushering me into your rest.

Amen.

Quiet In Love

Lord,

I praise you for your time and timing,

your rhythms and cycles,

ebbs and flows,

and I welcome your shabbat,

your rest today at the end of this week.

Thank you for your heartbeat

pulsing through me,

though my week,

for your presence with me,

your Spirit’s counsel, guidance, and love

hovering over me,

disciplining, leading, moving me

forward into greater plains of your freedom and grace.

I praise you for this day to pause,

to be still

and remember, reflect

on your beauty, glory, and holiness.

You are so good,

active, invisible, powerful, and mighty,

buoying me and my loved ones up in your love.

I love you and will quiet my soul,

satisfied as a weaned baby in your arms.

I bless you Lord.

Amen.
