My Rest, My Healer

Lord,

Thank you for being the Healer

of my broken heart,

coming into my mess

to bind up all my wounds,

and deliver me

from tangles of grief and despair,

unspoken words,

unfelt feelings

of regret, shame, and guilt.

Thank you for loving me still,

accepting me still,

embracing me still,

never letting go

when I pushed back

and ran away.

I praise you for your lovingkindness

that always draws…

compels me back to you.

Your goodness awes me

in the small and big ways

in the land of the living.

Truly you are the living God,

making yourself known,

through your creation,

your hand upon my life.

Help me Lord,

to surrender all,

to trust you wholly,

rest in your love fully,

and be absolutely your child,

yours alone, forever.

still my thoughts,

open my spirit,

and wait,

with no expectation,

no presumption,

to sense your presence,

be still in your love,

knowing you’re right here,

always, with me.

Your Spirit fills me,

cleanses my mind,

refreshes my heart,

and a breath escapes,

releasing my cares to you.

I praise you my Prince of Peace,

for inviting me into your rest.

Lord,

I have everything I need in you.

You sustain my heart,

refresh my soul,

keep me in perfect peace,

as my thoughts alight on you.

You are rest,

and I enter your presence,

grateful for your blood

that has washed away all my sin,

and speaks a better word

over every accusation,

judgement, and condemnation.

You are my refuge

and my tower of strength.

There’s no other place I’d rather be,

I praise you.

Simplicity & Intimacy

Lord,

thank you for your Word,

thank you for your Spirit.

Bring me back into simplicity,

learning to rest,

waiting on you

in simple devotion

and childlike faith.

Let me trust in your living Word,

your gracious guidance,

obeying with a wholehearted yes,

believing the goodness of your commands.

Help me to stand firm in faith,

knowing my steps are secure in you,

for your grace is sufficient,

you provide all I need for the day.

Release your revelation and resource,

divine appointments and angelic help,

strengthen my spirit, give me faith,

that my inner man would be strong,

rooted and grounded in your love,

full of hope and joy,

and I live true from the inside out,

Kiss me with your presence,

be my vision, my goal,

my great reward,

and let me love the process

because you are with me,

and the fullness of my joy,

purpose, peace, and life

is you alone.

Help me to cast the cares of this world on you,

so that I may keep first things first…

Temple Of Grace

Lord,

help me to care for my holy temple,

where lies the Holy of holies,

my conscious clear,

my heart right,

my thoughts at rest,

my body well,

so that I may tabernacle with you,

your Spirit comfortable and welcome,

dwelling in me,

having full rein.

Take over,

where I do what I don’t want to do,

conflicted in flesh and spirit,

reign victorious over me,

establishing your mercy, comfort, and grace.

Gain the territories I struggle to yield,

and grant me vision once more

of your beauty, holiness, peace, and rest.

Have your way in me Lord,

that I may be perfected in your image,

reflecting your love, your heart, your righteousness.

I cast myself into your waves of mercy

and I praise you for your saving grace.

God’s Love Is Everything

Abba,

Thank you for proving your love again and again,

your mercy and lovingkindness

are new every morning,

an endless well brimming over,

you love me despite my unbelief.

You are faithful when I am faithless.

I’m loved in my brokenness and weakness,

I’m loved, burnt out and exhausted,

I’m loved in my failures, mistakes, and wrong turns,

I’m loved in my mediocrity, inadequacy, and inability,

I’m loved in my pride, independence, and rebellion,

I’m loved in my self righteousness and sin.

You loved me through the wilderness,

teaching me what love is,

you love me because you are love,

and you’ve chosen me in your love.

I praise you that your love is not based

on my performance, excellence, or merit.

You give and you take away as you please,

I remind myself, I came naked and will return to dust,

everything I have comes from you,

is for you, goes back to you,

you sustain all that I am.

Apart from you I’m nothing Lord,

naked, bereft, cold, hard, proud,

miserable, deceived, heading straight for hell.

But you made the way through your Son,

you drew me,

you saved me,

you cleanse, heal me,

and make me whole.

You give me new life and life abundant,

you have given me yourself,

you are my portion, my cup, my inhertance,

and I praise you Lord.

Content

Lord,

thank you that your eyes have seen,

your presence gone forth,

your Spirit secured,

the boundaries of my day

and my path through it.

I trust you will provide for all my needs,

as you give me breath to breathe,

and grace to live,

thank you for your love, peace, and strength

infusing me

to walk with you

and know you today.

I praise you that no matter what circumstances

or challenges may come across my path,

I have your spirit of power, love, and a sound mind,

your love unchanging, grounding, and covering me,

and your Spirit of wisdom and revelation

guiding me to level paths,

leveling mountains, raising up valleys.

I am content,

knowing I have every advantage

because you have my back,

you know me best,

you usher me into the paths and works

you’ve planned for me.

Have your way in me Lord,

you are the author and perfecter of my faith,

and I entrust my life to you.

thank you that your mercies, grace, and love

Lord,

thank you,

you get me,

you know me better than I know myself,

through my images,

visages and projections,

covering up,

diverting away from my sin and grime,

you peel it off,

layer by layer,

a gentle scrub,

a piercing cut,

a healing balm

revealing blood-infused life,

new wineskin,

your spirit resurrecting

the dead within.

You’ve got me,

walking, fumbling

in my new identity,

unsure, uncertain,

but following your voice,

messing up,

getting stuck,

dangling in transition,

but…

your Spirit a powerhouse within,

overcoming, rerouting all my failures,

using all my compost for life abundant,

growing and guiding me,

to live free and strong

from the inside out,

your hand upon me,

you’ll never let me go.

I rest secure in you.

Walk With The Lord

Lord,

thank you for extending your hand

to walk with you,

your presence inviting,

comfortable and gracious,

your heart humble and gentle,

always welcoming and open.

My soul is at ease

in your unconditional acceptance,

your patient, listening ear,

reminding me your voice doesn’t condemn,

shame or demean,

finding rest in your Words,

comfort in your silence,

your counsel and wisdom

light, peaceful… unexpected.

Your love catches me off guard,

you give mercy and kindness

when I think I’ve run out,

and I’m amazed

that you’re endless,

eternal,

you are God,

meek and powerful,

a mystery to me.

Help me to walk with you,

always be fascinated by you,

be in wonder and awe of you,

love, obey, and delight you

that your heart would be happy,

and my heart full and content,

never needing to look any further

to know my joy is complete.
