You Came Once

O Lord,

I praise you and I love you,

Thank you for coming once,

the Lamb of God,

as the Son of Man, Son of God

to take away all my sins and give me eternal life.

You overcame death

and are alive right now seated at the right hand of the Father,

Thank you for coming to die for me.

I look to your second coming,

as the Lion of the tribe of Judah,

righteous Judge, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

I bless your name today,

your love, power, mercy, and grace infused

throughout all creation, and all things that are

right, true, beautiful, and good.

You Came

Humble Lord,

vulnerable baby,

refugee, minority, outsider,

ordinary man and extraordinary Word in skin,

of humble trade, crafting wood and parts,

who created the stars, the sun and moon, earth and universe,

a stranger amongst your own creation,

seen but unseen, unknown, misunderstood,

mocked, scorned, and ridiculed,

abused, betrayed, and rejected,

by me.

And you went all the way to the grave

when I was still your enemy,

to die for all my sins and rebellion against you.

You were my friend and Lord,

embracing suffering and death

because you wanted to be in relationship with me.

You raised yourself up,

Son of God,

who was, and is , and is to come,

and I will live forever with you

in unbroken fellowship and love

because you loved, saved, and delivered me,

You are my God, my Lord, and my King.

Humble Messiah

Beautiful Yeshua,

I remember your coming,

stooping so low

making yourself nothing,

to step into our lives

humbly you came into skin.

You submitted yourself,

vulnerable to the elements,

human frailty and weakness,

the powers and politics of darkness, chaos, and suffering.

You came.

You lived.

To die.

And you died and rose again!

You wanted to be with me,

you wanted to give me your perfect, righteous, obedient life.

Thank you for coming and giving everything to save me.

I praise you Yeshua.

My Messiah

Beautiful Lord,

tender as a babe,

vulnerable beyond our deepest wounds,

wrapped in skin,

holiness walking amongst us,

pierced by my sins,

bleeding mercy and forgiveness,

your open heart,

hangs on the cross,

and never stops beating with love

that resurrected you from the grave.

Son of Man,

you came and walked among us,

died for our sins and rose again.

Yeshua, you are Savior and Messiah,

you alone are God.
