God Who Sustains

Lord,

thank you for the space of your grace,

your presence, your breath

pushing back

where the world pushes and presses in.

Thank you that you are closer to me

than my own breath,

your presence within

reigns over the universe,

holding it together,

your grace is expansive,

your purposes deep,

your love infiltrates all,

and I surrender again to you,

trusting you with all my heart,

not leaning on my own understanding,

acknowledging you in all my ways,

believing you will make straight my paths.

Please encourage my heart,

send vision, motivation, strength my way,

let me remember you are with me,

and crush discouragement and frustration

under my heel,

moving forward where you call,

bold and courageous.

I praise you for your love,

your perfect leadership,

may I continue my journey faithfully with you,

and finish strong,

running this well by your grace.

Thank you and I praise you Lord.

Lovingly Hemmed In

Loving Father,

I look to you, seek you,

and wait upon your hand and guidance.

What I saw as my cage with iron bars,

is your protection and strong hand hemming me in.

Where I feel stuck,

you are working out the deeper things,

your Spirit moving in the hidden places of the heart,

growing, maturing, and strengthening me in ways I don’t yet understand.

When I am angry, frustrated, discouraged, and desperate,

and I finally give up my own willful efforts,

your hand reaches in,

once more bringing comfort and encouragement,

reassuring me that everything is alright.

You’re with me, that’s all I need to know.

I know you plans are to prosper me and not to harm me,

and that you work all things for your glory and my good.

I am blessed and in strong, safe hands.
