Loved In Transition

Lord,

thank you for your presence with me,

your mercy in this transition,

as I dangle not all that gracefully

from this point to the next,

thank you for holding onto me,

carrying me through each day.

Help me to trust you more,

understanding my heart,

the mixture of anxiety and hope,

dread and anticipation,

fear and excitement,

let me surrender it all to you,

leaning in to trust in you,

good Shepherd, loving Father,

setting my heart to believe, trust, and hope,

that you take me from glory to glory,

and through the valleys in between.

I thank you and bless you Lord.

Glorious God

Abba,

I praise you,

you alone are God,

there is none like you,

your radiance and glory fill all the heavens,

your love reigns,

perfect purity, holiness, righteousness

governing the universe.

You are Spirit,

mysterious, frightening, beautiful,

drawing so low, so near,

giving up your Son

to bloody, raging hands.

Thank you for saving a wretched sinner like me.

How you could humble my icy pride,

remove the deception and rebellion,

so I may receive your salvation…

thank you that you’ve done it all.

I bless you and give you the only sacrifice I can bring,

God Who Is Life

Lord,

thank you for this day,

for your presence that rests on me,

your peace that settles my spirit,

thank you for the grace once again

to turn my heart to you

and warm my soul by your light.

You are Life,

Encourager, Comforter,

Guide, Counselor, and Grace.

You are Wisdom, Mercy,

Kindness, Goodness,

Compassion, Power, and Strength.

I will not fret,

for you are with me,

you order my steps.

Draw me close,

let me always cling to you,

and please don’t let me go,

for I am lost without you.

I love you,

Lord of my life,

King of my heart.

First Love

Lord,

return me to first love,

letting me remember

the joy of my salvation,

your grace and mercy

that drew and broke me,

drenching me with compassion

and loving kindness,

when I’ve done nothing

to deserve your love,

only always, humbly receiving.

I understand now,

it never stopped after salvation,

my need only grows for you,

your light exposing my heart,

your mercy reaching ever deeper depths,

your love ever taking more ground,

making me yours.

Take my heart,

my life, all of me,

and return me to first love,

to love you is what I’m made for.

Your Love

Lord,

show me your love,

expand my heart, my capacity,

my understanding to receive,

break through my shallow understanding,

deliver me from my doubts

in the midst of pain, suffering, and my disappointments,

and wash off the lies that I must come worthy.

For you have forgiven me of all my sins,

you heal me,

you have redeemed my life from darkness.

Your steadfast love and mercy adorn me,

and you satisfy me with good

so that I am refreshed and enlivened.

You work out righteousness and justice

where I am oppressed,

You make your ways and actions known,

Lord you are merciful and gracious,

slow to anger, abounding in love.

You won’t always rebuke,

you won’t stay angry forever,

I thank you that you don’t deal with me according to my sins,

or repay me according to my failings.

I love you Lord,

please help me to draw near to you,

knowing you will draw nearer to me.

Secure In God

Lord,

thank you,

you get me,

you know me better than I know myself,

through my images,

visages and projections,

covering up,

diverting away from my sin and grime,

you peel it off,

layer by layer,

a gentle scrub,

a piercing cut,

a healing balm

revealing blood-infused life,

new wineskin,

your spirit resurrecting

the dead within.

You’ve got me,

walking, fumbling

in my new identity,

unsure, uncertain,

but following your voice,

messing up,

getting stuck,

dangling in transition,

but…

your Spirit a powerhouse within,

overcoming, rerouting all my failures,

using all my compost for life abundant,

growing and guiding me,

to live free and strong

from the inside out,

your hand upon me,

you’ll never let me go.

I rest secure in you.

Level Paths

Lord,

I praise you that you thoroughly know me,

and still love me with an everlasting love.

You know my day before me,

my comings and my goings,

the challenges and obstacles ahead.

Lord please go before me,

give me your advantage,

Spirit level my path before me,

smooth out my way

with your peace, comfort, and grace.

Enclose me under your hand,

hem me in behind and before,

command your angels regarding me,

to protect and defend me

that my feet may not stumble

as I walk in your ways.

Give me a pure heart,

wholehearted and single-minded for you,

that I would have a servant’s heart,

working with a spirit of excellence,

and thanksgiving to you.

Let me throw off every yoke that’s not of you,

from the world, society, others, even myself,

so that I may take on only your yoke that is easy,

your burden which is light,

and learn to follow only you,

gentle Lord, humble in heart.

Thank you for being my Messiah and Lord,

I bless you and praise you for my good inheritance.

Walking With

Lord,

Thank you that you’re with me,

in and through

the mountains and valleys,

a constant companion,

my wise and gentle Shepherd,

guiding my steps,

strengthening my heart,

knowing and aware of what’s ahead, behind, all around.

I need not be fearful or anxious,

only just to lean in,

draw close,

trust and follow you.

You who make my paths straight,

and give me courage to do what’s right,

focus to stay on track,

not turning away to the right or left,

and enabling, empowering grace.

All my ways will be steadfast and sure,

because you are with me Lord.

Give Me Strength

Lord,

I praise you and thank you for tender care,

your love and gentleness wrapping around me,

bringing comfort to my body, soul, and spirit.

I thank you for your rest when I feel weak,

thank you that you’re not the one that pushes,

rather it’s me,

so I lay down my own expectations, to-do lists, and pressure,

and just breathe,

resting in your hands,

now aware of your presence,

feeling the anxiety drain from my muscles,

and relief fill my cells.

In my weakness, be strong and rise up within me Lord through this day.

Let it be your Spirit, life, words, love, wisdom, grace, and strength

to minister to my heart and those around me,

that I may decrease so you will increase

and I can still be a faithful witness to your beauty and righteousness.

I’m unable to go forth without your strength and power,

your grace and life,

go before me and rest on me Lord,

I praise you that I have all I need in you for life and holiness,

I have you.

To Love

Lord,

I praise you, thank you for opening my eyes to your love,

reaching down into the deepest crevices,

cleansing, healing, renewing, and bringing life.

Teach me, help me to love like you,

enduring with patience and serenity.

Forgive me for how quickly I fall short each day,

and infuse me again and again with your Spirit.

Soften my heart, open my eyes to be kind, thoughtful, aware,

and let me always be aware of your presence,

your heart for others,

not being jealous or envious,

coveting what’s not mine,

being content exactly in my place.

Lord, please help me to keep myself humble

before you and others,

not bragging, not proud, not arrogant,

let the spirit of the fear of the Lord be heavy upon me always,

that I may blessed with humility, wisdom, and mercy.

Cleanse my heart of rudeness, self-seeking, selfishness,

to have a generous, considerate heart towards others,

and let me not be offended and provoked easily,

nor overly sensitive and easily angered.

Grant me understanding and discernment to see other’s hearts,

not necessarily their words or actions,

and grant grace to my own heart to be warm, embracing, accepting,

as you have been of me.

Help me to forgive and let go quickly,

wash away pain and hurt caused by others,

and replace it with your understanding, peace, and joy.

Let me hate injustice as you do,

and help me to discern truth

and rejoice when rightness and truth prevail.

Grant me the strength of an ox

to bear the trials and tribulations to come,

to believe all things,

seeking out and sifting up the best in others like hidden treasure,

to hope all things,

standing firm, strong through challenging times,

and to endure all things without faltering.

I’m utterly unable to do any of this without you Lord.

So I surrender my heart, thoughts, desires, plans, will, and ways,

let me decrease, so you may increase in me,

and use me

Shine your precious love and light through me Lord.
