Garden Of My Heart

Lord,

help me to prepare my heart,

tilling and turning baked soil,

removing hard rocks,

weeds, and boulders,

going deep,

so there’s depth for your truth to root.

Let me be faithful in planting and receiving good seed,

to water, nourish, and nurture,

guarding and protecting their life.

Place around me other believers,

growing their own healthy gardens,

wise and skilled in your Spirit and Word,

ready in season and out.

Lord, I ask you to grow,

your Truth in my heart,

increasing and strengthening my faith—

let your desires take deep root,

growing strong,

tall and wide,

and let me filled with your ways,

your purposes, your heart,

full of life from the Source of life.

Help me to do my part,

and trust you to do yours.

I bless you Lord.

Help To Surrender

Lord,

pour out your Spirit upon me,

enter into my heart,

and lead me into fuller surrender.

Expand your presence in me,

overcoming, overtaking fears and anxieties,

driving out control and striving

with your comfort, power, and love.

You have my yes,

have your way in me,

gently expose,

remove the obstacles that have hindered

free reign of your Spirit and love.

Search me

and know my thoughts,

see if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

I bless you Lord.

Cleanse My Heart

Lord,

give me a willing spirit,

a soft and open heart,

to listen to your voice

and receive your Word.

Help me to accept your correction,

embrace your discipline,

and to trust in you,

not my own strength, intelligence, and power

(or lack of).

Help me to draw near to you,

and not the idols presented by the world.

I repent of clinging to my comforts,

numbing through addictions,

distracting myself through busyness and shiny pursuits,

instead of honestly, humbly turning to you.

Cleanse and purify my heart,

give me clean and pure lips,

choice and blessing words,

and let me call on your Name,

in peace and unity with your Spirit.

I praise you and bless you.

A Beautiful Heart

Lord,

please give me a soft heart,

sensitive to your Spirit,

tender towards your nudgings,

feeling what you are feeling,

loving what you love,

hating what you hate.

Give me a hungry heart

that leans towards you,

seeks after you,

draws near to you,

to be replenished by your Spirit and life.

Give me a humble, faithful heart,

that rests and stands on your Word alone,

and lives for the audience of One.

Make me yours,

always and forever Lord.

You Are Beautiful

Lord,

Would you give me your eyes

to see the heart rather than the outward appearance,

turning the mirror first upon myself,

before I should judge.

Please show me your beauty,

bring revelation of your essence,

give shape, impressions, expressions, and feels

so my heart can touch and taste the beauty of your Spirit.

Wean me off of shiny, sparkly baubles,

distractions that confuse my senses

and dull my spirit

anchoring me to a temporal world

that’s dying and returning to dust.

Let me seek to radiate your beauty Lord

from the inside out,

rather than chase worldly standards

that mock and destroy your image in me.

Help me to delight in you alone,

inviting your presence

deep within me,

desiring to dwell with you in the Holy of holies,

above all else,

and cultivating a gentle, quiet spirit

beautiful to you,

that you would delight, treasure, and take pleasure in,

because you alone are my eternal, forever Bridegroom God.
