You’re My Lead

Lord,

Let me be attentive to you, my King,

still and waiting,

seeking your presence,

at rest in trusting you,

knowing you’ll move, you’ll speak,

when you choose,

in your way and timing —

not mine,

let it be my delight to follow you.

As the world dims and darkens,

your light shines more brightly within,

hope and joy lifting my head to your glory eternal,

that I can only dimly perceive.

I take heart in your hand

hemming me in from behind,

your Spirit going before me,

and your Word and presence

making your heart and desires clear.

You lead me step by step,

down your winding, narrow path,

leading me to rest,

green pastures, quiet waters,

paths of righteousness,

and my spirit expands and is strengthened.

Let me walk with you like Enoch did,

faithfully here on earth

and all the way up to heaven,

that my life and death would count for you,

all for your glory, honor, and praise.

Amen.

The Wondrous Trade

Photo by Gerald Hartl on Unsplash.

Lord,

I’m in awe of what you’ve done,

wholly, fully completing your covenant with me,

knowing the depths of my shame,

walking through the ugly mire of worldly sludge, brokenness, and defilement,

thrust into the pain of sin around you,

accusation, betrayal, and condemnation.

You are the Son of God,

yet you counted yourself as nothing

for love –

love of God, love of the world,

your creation, your handiwork, your poetry,

love of me.

I can’t believe I can come with my broken wares,

my ashes of shame and self-hatred,

dropping them at your feet

with my knees and head prostrate,

realizing I can be free because you paid the price for me.

I praise you for this trade of mercy and grace,

where I can only receive,

humbling my heart to see clearly my emptiness and poverty,

and I’m amazed that for ashes, grief, and despair,

you would give me beauty,

dancing,

and a garment of praise.

You are good God, and I will never forget your kindness,

I am yours, and you are mine.

I bless my Beloved,

Amen.

King Forever

Eternal King,

My heart is steadfast on you,

your glory my vision,

transforming me with each step,

your light breaking off chains,

shedding old skin,

emboldening faith to arise,

tremulous steps becoming strong and sure,

confident that going forth I’m victorious,

because of your Spirit within me that has overcome the world,

old ways, paths, addictions that attempt to tempt and deceive,

are exposed and scattered by your light.

You are my Way, my Truth, my Light,

and I shall not fear.

I worship you,

the glorious, everlasting King who reigns.

Amen.

Love Is The Goal

Photo by Nils Rasmusson on Unsplash.

Lord,

I praise you for new beginnings,

where love is the goal,

loving you by bringing all of me,

exposing every piece of me to your grace

and your unending waves of mercy and kindness

breaking over me…

enabling me to rise again and again,

to see by your Spirit through the eyes of my heart,

cleansed continually of sin, wounds, and lies,

now open to the beauty in others,

that you’ve placed as a treasure to seek.

I bless you as you call me forth,

realizing now I never had to be perfect to answer,

and I rise from a long, barren wilderness,

leaning on you, my Beloved,

forgetting what is behind,

and pressing on towards the goal of heavenly love,

sweet intimacy with you Lord.

I love you,

Amen.

With Him

Lord,

I thank you that when I surrendered to you,

you came in and made your home in the midst of my heart,

kindling a cozy fire within,

to draw close to you with all my thoughts and emotions,

making it alright, just to come and sit,

enjoy you, and be me.

I draw close to you,

in awe of the warmth of your silence,

the comfort of your strength,

the kindness of your presence.

You are safe.

You cover my weakness.

You restore my soul.

I come as I am,

broken, exhausted, and lost,

and I find you,

listening to me.

To my voice, my heart,

my starts and stops, my confusion.

Your questions arrest me,

make me think,

your Word changes me,

bringing light and restoration,

wholeness, life, and healing.

Surrendering to you,

I realize, has always meant empowering me,

to be wholly, fully, all that you created me to be.

Lord, I am yours,

and you are mine.

I love you.

Amen.

Throne Of Righteousness

Photo by Winston Chen on Unsplash.

Abba,

Your throne is established on justice and righteousness.

You rule and reign over all the heavens and the earth

in glory, majesty, honor, and holiness.

I praise you for your wisdom, power, and love.

I bless your name for you are faithful and true,

not slow in answering the cries of your people.

You have given the earth as an inheritance to your Son,

who is the once and future King,

our coming King with righteousness and judgement

as fire in His eyes.

You see all that is going on, that has happened and will,

Weigh the scales, and judge with mercy and righteousness,

deal with the evil and wicked,

release repentance and have mercy,

remember the cries of the poor, vulnerable, and innocent,

rise up on their behalf,

on behalf of all your people,

show yourself strong.

Expose the schemes and doings of the enemy,

that have gone on for too long under secrecy and corruption

believing and acting as gods, defying your name and existence.

Defend your name, honor your people, and raise up the humble and true.

Humble the proud and arrogant plotting wicked schemes,

put them to shame,

let weapons and hands quick to violence

be confused and frustrated in tracks.

Establish righteous leaders throughout the land,

that freedom, truth, and justice would prevail.

Do it so that all glory would go to you alone,

For your glory O God,

for your name’s sake,

that all the world would see you and tremble,

and bow down and worship the Holy One of Yisrael.

I bless your name, and thank you for what you will do,

and all you have done.

You triumph over all, and the end of the story,

you always win.

Victorious God, I worship you!

Amen.

Drink In His Rest

A grace on my heart

to stop and be still

the King of the Sabbath

calls me to draw near

to rest in His presence

allowing time to float lazily by

as I drink and imbibe

joy, courage, life and peace

from my Maker who sees

and knows better what I need

who gives generously

and without hesitation

Restoring, refreshing, enlivening me.

I praise my wonderful King.

Feminine Way

Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash.

You saw me,

underneath the tomboy slouch and martial arts dreams

shadow boxing with my father’s billionaire ambitions,

shutting down soft, armoring vulnerable,

a scorner of sensitive and gentle beings,

growing up at odds with me,

fighting my skin and rejecting meek

ashamed of the blossoming

lost, so utterly lost within

trying on designer identities given by the world

an object in bondage, labeled, used, manipulated,

the young fight’s gone, those voices had lied

broken, I was broken,

and then you came.

Reminding me, remembering me

delighting in me, enjoying me

your gentle, sensitive kindness

awakening the feminine I’d oppressed

always knowing she wasn’t safe.

Holy Spirit, Abba, and Yeshua

Now in your hands I place my life, my spirit

discovering love and casting off shame,

at last safe, secure, seen and known

because I’m just a girl, learning to be loved

trusting your hope and tender grace

to be your woman of chayil

courageous in faith and strong in heart,

beautiful in meek submission to your glorious grace

Amen.

Stay

Photo by Majid Rangraz on Unsplash.

I’ve run away without looking back

casting ordinary aside for adrenaline highs,

Crossing oceans seeking home

in my motherland and foreign soil,

losing myself to missions and the greater cause,

when the one that needed saving was me.

Merciful Abba, you see right through me

and you knew that all cylinder,

the engine enabling escape

would break,

by my own ignorance and abuse,

knowing not my function or way.

You waited and waited for me,

with gentle intervention when reality threatened my life,

and truth was exposed by layers, a festering wound

beyond what I could bear.

And you made me stay,

now broken, unable to run away,

holding me close, saying it would be all be ok,

dressing my wounds, cleansing my heart,

even as I clawed and slapped your healing hands away.

Your love applied time as a balm,

you were in no hurry

to watch me heal, accept and be

just simply me.

Won by your love and choosing to stay

with you for all eternity,

I love you God.

Amen.
