One Day At A Time

Lord,

help me to meet you

early in the morning,

and in the closing of the day.

Grant me the wisdom,

knowledge, understanding,

and discipline

to steward the gift of time

you have given me,

structuring my hours,

my moments,

my day to wrap around your presence,

and prioritize your will for my life.

Help me to work diligently,

faithfully in partnership with you,

according to your purposes,

and let me find deep rest

in your Word,

knowing I’ve lived your will.

Let my life count for you,

one day at a time.

I bless you Lord.

Rest

Lord,

Let me truly know and believe you

as my Savior and my rest.

I surrender my plans, goals, desires,

my life into your hands.

I give my days and nights to you,

show me your pace,

give me your priorities,

help me to let go of the rest,

knowing my work is done

when I have been obedient to your directives,

no more and no less,

to believe that is enough,

that I am enough,

and to trust you with all the rest.

I repent of the idols of busyness and productivity,

take away the burdens of these slave masters

and false identities,

heal me of my burn out and overwhelm,

and let me drop deeper from the surface cycles

of worldly living

into seeing, hearing, living,

walking by your Spirit and Word.

Help me to believe,

help my unbelief,

bring revelation to my mind,

bring a change of heart,

let me see where I cannot see,

and awaken me from my own deception—

to enter and settle in your Rest,

knowing you are my Lord

and salvation,

and I have no lack in you.

I love you Lord.

Teach Me To Rest

Lord,

Help me to slow down,

and find my rest in you.

Please forgive me

for running 100 miles an hour,

trying to sustain myself,

even when everything falls apart

sooner or later in my strength.

Forgive me for not turning to you sooner.

Thank you for your grace

to turn to you,

your counsel that is for my good.

Lord, when I wake up,

I will turn to you,

to seek your protection and grace,

to order my day with your priorities,

to lean on you for strength.

I will meditate upon your Word

throughout my day,

rooting deep

to find living water,

walking alongside you,

taking care of my temple,

moving, nourishing body, mind, and soul,

to serve and love well.

I will bookend my day in you,

keeping short accounts with you,

cleansing my heart,

cultivating a thankful heart,

and entering into night,

seeking sweet sleep

as a blessing from you.

Have your way in my life Lord.

be wise,

and trust your Spirit,

leading and guiding me into all truth⁠—

peaceable, full of light,

gentle, sincere,

considerate, and merciful.

knowing every hair on my head,

your thoughts outnumbering

all the grains of sand on the seashore.

be at rest,

knowing my life is in your hands

working all things for my good,

for you glory.

Lord,

I quiet my heart,

still my thoughts,

open my spirit,

and wait,

with no expectation,

no presumption,

just longing to hear your voice,

to sense your presence,

be still in your love,

knowing you’re right here,

always, with me.

Your Spirit fills me,

cleanses my mind,

refreshes my heart,

and a breath escapes,

releasing my cares to you.

I praise you my Prince of Peace,

and I bless you

for inviting me into your rest.

My Rest

Lord,

I have everything I need in you.

You sustain my heart,

refresh my soul,

keep me in perfect peace,

as my thoughts alight on you.

You are rest,

and I enter your presence,

grateful for your blood

that has washed away all my sin,

and speaks a better word

over every accusation,

judgement, and condemnation.

You are my refuge

and my tower of strength.

There’s no other place I’d rather be,

I praise you.

Simplicity & Intimacy

Lord,

thank you for your Word,

thank you for your Spirit.

Bring me back into simplicity,

learning to rest,

waiting on you

in simple devotion

and childlike faith.

Let me trust in your living Word,

your gracious guidance,

obeying with a wholehearted yes,

believing the goodness of your commands.

Help me to stand firm in faith,

knowing my steps are secure in you,

for your grace is sufficient,

you provide all I need for the day.

Release your revelation and resource,

divine appointments and angelic help,

strengthen my spirit, give me faith,

that my inner man would be strong,

rooted and grounded in your love,

full of hope and joy,

and I live true from the inside out,

Kiss me with your presence,

be my vision, my goal,

my great reward,

and let me love the process

because you are with me,

and the fullness of my joy,

purpose, peace, and life

is you alone.

Help me to cast the cares of this world on you,

so that I may keep first things first…

Rest In Faith

Lord,

you are sovereign over all the universe,

you are closer to me than my breath,

you are mighty and strong,

lovingly, intimately involved in my life,

please now penetrate into every area of my heart,

where unbelief hardens

and the care of this world bring unrest.

Help me to cast all my cares upon you,

remembering your provision, kindness, and goodness

pursuing me and holding onto me,

and choose to believe again and again.

Give me faith,

let me throw off every yoke, distraction, and idol,

and purify my heart

to be wholehearted, single minded

pursuing your will,

obeying you.

Restore my joy and hope,

and let me once again find rest in you alone.

Happy And Content

Lord,

help me to be present,

taking a moment,

catching a breath,

to remember you’re with me,

and be aware of your Spirit,

knowing I’m loved,

not by what I do,

but by all you’ve done.

Let me be content,

letting go of perfect,

leaning in, being ok,

and making peace with broken places,

letting your light,

your comfort shine through.

Let me serve you rightly,

pursuing you,

living to please you,

with joy, gratitude, and overflow,

simply as me,

no false burdens, guilt, or expectations,

exactly where I’m at…

with my few loaves and fishes,

offering back my gifts to you,

taking care of my small garden plot,

being faithful and diligent

in the small things…

they count, they matter,

trusting you,

sinking into your grace,

knowing you’re sufficient,

happy that with you,

I lack no good thing.

Let my heart be at peace,

giving life to my body,

joyfully giving my life for you.

Draw Me Away

Lord,

Draw me away to rest in you,

kiss me with your Word,

revive me with your Spirit,

remind me again that your love is better than wine,

than anything this world has to offer…

for only you can satisfy.

Hide me under your wings,

for your nearness delights and comforts,

your presence is a fragrance

that soothes, restores, and calms.

Still my soul against your heartbeat,

your rhythm of love and melody of grace.

Let me rejoice and be glad in you,

remembering and praising your sweet love,

enjoying you, resting assured

that this is right where I belong.
